27/1/12 13:16 (UTC)#12 - Aside from her art books, Maggie is very widely read. She tends to focus what time she has on the NY Times Best Seller list, because that gives her a decent cross section of what people are enjoying.
When she buys books for herself they're usually hard cover. She's thought about buying an e-reader for herself, but the weight of a hard cover book in her hands is comforting. Reading a physical book also forces her to stop what she's doing and take a break.
#42 - Maggie's hobbies are reading, and she likes to paint but she typically focuses that energy on decorating her living space. She's painted random accents (flowers, curlicues, etc) all through her apartment, and the rooms are done in interesting, non-traditional colors.
Drawing is another one of her hobbies, but that one has a lot of guilt attached. Every time she looks at her sketch book she has to acknowledge that it's been too long since she's gone out with a pencil and her book and just drawn. Which typically keeps her from picking up the book. Which makes it worse next times she notices the book (lather, rinse, repeat).

27/1/12 13:40 (UTC)Okay, Faith. No surprise I have several head canons for her - where there is a deviation I'm going to go ahead and list both (or all).
#7 - Favorite way to waste time and feelings surrounding wasting time
Faith is a big fan of wasting time - always has been. On some level it's a way of thumbing her nose at authority, but mostly it's a way of trying to claim control over her own life (nobody can tell me what to do or when to do it).
Her favorite way of wasting time? Sex, followed by sparring or getting into fights. The only exception to this would be "Ties That Bind" Faith, who also enjoys hanging out with Nate and picking his brain on everything she can think of.
#12 - Favorite Book Genre
Doesn't have one - Faith doesn't read. She's not illiterate, but reading for pleasure is an entirely alien concept for her.
#17. Preferred mode of dress and rituals surrounding dress
Leather for battle and clubbing. No skirts, unless it's a specific request by whoever she's with (ie, TTB Faith has worn dresses for dinners with Nate or because Eliot's asked her to. Crossroads Faith has worn skirts a couple of times when Dean has complained about how long it takes to get her leather pants off.)
Casual dress is yoga pants or sweats. No shorts - consciously or unconsciously Faith's choice of clothes is designed to control *how* people see her.
Wherever possible she prefers tank tops over any other type of shirt. If she has to wear a more traditional t-shirt, she'll invariably rip out the collar.
#27. What is their biggest regret?
TTB Faith regrets the time lost with Nate and the life she believes she could have had growing up with him. Overall though, Faith regrets nothing. She can't change what she's done - all she can do is try to do better going forward and do whatever she can to keep from making the same mistakes.
#31. Most prized possession?
TTB Faith - it's the knife Eliot gave her for her thirtieth birthday. Crossroads Faith - her wedding ring (but she'll never admit that to anyone). In general, Faith's prized possession is her motorcycle.
#32. Thoughts on material possessions in general?
Bad idea - if you can't fit it in a large backpack or use it to escape the people wanting to fuck up your day, you probably don't need it as much as you think you do.
#35. What activities do they enjoy, but consider to be a waste of time?
Pretty much everything Faith enjoys doing she considers to be a waste of time - but she also doesn't look at that as a bad thing.
#48. How do they express love?
She sticks around. Faith doesn't say the word "love" easily - or at all. For her, when she's willing to stick around through good times and bad - when she listens to somebody call her on her bullshit and doesn't run away - that's love.
#50. Is this person afraid of dying? Why or why not?
Nah. She's already lived over a decade longer than anyone expected her to. Everything from this point forward is gravy.
I haven't really explored it in depth yet, but I suspect TTB Faith is going to be growing more afraid of dying as the years unfold and she grows closer to Nate and the team. Crossroads Faith understands that she and the Winchesters are in a dangerous business and if she's not prepared for one of them to die unexpectedly she needs to GTFO.

27/1/12 14:32 (UTC)#3. Do they exercise, and if so, what do they do? How often?
Unless disrupted by the demands of a job, Eliot will always run five miles in the morning - usually before breakfast. If he's not working on something else, he'll do two hours in the gym late morning, alternating strength training and cardio.
Mid afternoon is martial arts training - sparring or working with the team on helping them improve their own skills.
#7. Favorite way to waste time and feelings surrounding wasting time
Due to a combination of his upbringing and his military training, Eliot's not really comfortable "wasting time". He'll join in on movie nights with the team, but he's typically making snacks or cleaning up through most of whatever they're watching.
He reads, but it's as much to broaden his mind as anything. He's addicted to the idea of learning and understanding new things.
#8. Favorite indulgence and feelings surrounding indulging.
Eliot's favorite indulgence is food - he loves trying out new restaurants and seeing if he can deconstruct and replicate the dishes. Also probably due to his upbringing he loves cooking for people who appreciate his talents.
He'll also hit a bar or two to watch the game and just "be a guy". Bars are also how he meets the kind of woman who isn't going to be looking for the kind of relationship he can't provide.
For all his views on wasting time, he's a big fan of indulgences. They're life's rewards, and he appreciates being at a place in his life where he can have them.
#45. Superstitions or views on the occult?
Aha - two different head canons here!
Well since my head canon Eliot is Lindsey's twin brother, he has a healthy respect for the occult. He'd prefer to stay as far away from it as possible, but when he's forced to interact with it he likes as much intel on what he's facing as he can get.
This doesn't make him superstitious - he accepts that even though he might not entirely understand why certain actions or talismans affect occult creatures (or even the natural world), there's an explanation for why they do.
#50. Is this person afraid of dying? Why or why not?
Eliot's afraid of a slow, lingering death; the kind of death that makes him weak and dependent on other people. Fast, violent and bloody he made his peace with ages ago.

Batgirl...
#34. Thoughts on privacy? (Are they a private person, or are they prone to ‘TMI’?)
Extremely private. Knowledge is power, and Batgirl/Barbara understands the value of listening more than you talk.
#28. Who do they see as their best friend? Their worst enemy?
Her best friend is her father. For the reasons I pointed out above, Barbara isn't a really social person. She doesn't want to take the risk of getting close to people and having them become a liability. Even though she can't talk to Commissioner Gordon openly about crime-fighting, she appreciates the special bond they share.
Her worst enemy is King Tut. Of all the bad guys in Gotham City, he's the one that's nearly always challenging her or otherwise getting in her face, and how's a girl supposed to get taken seriously when everybody thinks her nemesis is an overweight university professor with mental problems?
#36. What makes them feel guilty?
Lying to her father about what she does in her free time.
Dynagirl...
#16. Biggest and smallest long term goal?
Judy's smallest long term goal is getting through high school and convincing Laurie that she doesn't need to bother with college.
Her biggest long term goal is to become a respected crime fighter in her own right - something other than "the sidekick".
(And I would answer 78 honey, but there are only 50 choices. *g*)

27/1/12 16:11 (UTC)Ellen's one of those people where coffee actually calms her nerves instead of energizing her. No matter whether it's the beginning or the end of her day, she always sits by herself outdoors and has a cup of coffee while she watches the sun come up. She thinks about each member of her extended family in turn - where they might be, imagining what they're doing.
When she's done, she asks whoever's running the show to please find it in their hearts to give everyone she cares about another day to do what they need to do on this earth.
#21. Turn-ons? Turn-offs?
Wisdom as opposed to intelligence - she appreciates an educated man, but only if they can apply what they know to the real world.
Somebody who has strong, well formed hands and knows what to do with them. Ellen can appreciate the practical value of someone who can make and fix things, and who also has enough imagination to put their hands to more pleasurable use. *g*
Strong, well-formed shoulders for purely shallow reasons.
Turn-offs include arrogance in all its forms. Anyone who underestimates or dismisses her. She also has no use for weakness - physical, emotional or character. Ellen has reached a point in her life where she wants a true partner. She doesn't want somebody she has to take care of anymore than she wants somebody to take care of her all the time.
#47. If they were to fall in love, who (or what) is their ideal?
As I kind of mentioned for 21 - Ellen is looking for a true partner. Somebody who respects her strengths and weaknesses and where she is in her life, and who she can respect in turn. They have to be willing to argue with her, but understand that she has a few points she will never compromise on.
They have to be clever and interesting, understand the value of family, and preferably not be looking for forever out of her. If forever happens great - but she doesn't want to see it as part of the master relationship plan.

27/1/12 16:39 (UTC)(no subject)
27/1/12 18:52 (UTC)Favorite indulgence? Is all of them an appropriate answer? Sophie is definitely cut from the "want, take, have" mold. She prefers the best of everything - clothes, food, furniture, accessories, and being at the top of her game she knows she can have them.
Sophie believes that everyone is entitled to indulge themselves as often as they can - they're literally what make life worth living.
#13. Sexual Orientation? And, regardless of own orientation, thoughts on sexual orientation in general?
Sophie is most definitely bisexual. The ability to seduce anyone is essential to being her sort of grifter, but once she realized the pleasure that could be had from any gender she was completely sold on the concept.
As such, people who limit themselves to one gender or the other confuse Sophie. Why would you voluntarily cut yourself off from such potential ecstasy?
#21. Turn-ons? Turn-offs?
Turn-ons - intelligence, imagination, and an appreciation of the finer things in life. People she can't manipulate on first meeting.
Turn-offs - people who automatically assume she can be bribed or bought. People who treat her like a possession. Stupid people. Mean or vindictive people.
#22. Given a blank piece of paper, a pencil, and nothing to do, what would happen?
The world's most amazing high fashion wardrobe - assuming she could find somebody to turn her scribblings into reality.
And a shopping list to make anyone's bank account weep.
#33. Concept of home and family?
Especially now that Nate seems willing to put his demons to rest, Sophie's ideal home and family are exactly what she has now with the team. She's not looking for marriage, but having people she cares about and who care about her in return - people she can count on through literally anything...that's what feels most real to her when people talk about home and family.
#43. How far did they get in formal education? What are their views on formal education vs self-education?
Sophie has her A-Levels, but is pretty impressively self-educated. Having a degree from any one particular university seemed pointless when she could have all of them depending on the con she was running.
She understands the benefits of formal education, but doesn't really see the point in somebody else telling her what she needs to know to get ahead. She'll handle that one all on her own, thank you very much.
#50. Is this person afraid of dying? Why or why not?
Yes, pretty desperately. Sophie may love a good death scene, but she's afraid of dying for real because it's out of her control and she doesn't know what's going to happen to her once she does. She's afraid it'll hurt, she's afraid the people she love with cry - or worse, that she'll die alone and no one will miss her or care.

27/1/12 16:51 (UTC)(no subject)
27/1/12 18:24 (UTC)Like Eliot (because in my head canon they're twins), Lindsey's upbringing and his career path pretty much ruined his ability to waste time. He enjoys sports, but being able to talk about "the game" gives him things to talk about with his co-workers and places to go with powerful people.
His television habits are all geared towards giving him an advantage - same with reading, movies, and any other leisure pursuit. Music relaxes him - he can play the guitar, although not as well as Eliot, and he can sing - but his life doesn't allow for being able to lower his guard for too long.
#13. Sexual Orientation? And, regardless of own orientation, thoughts on sexual orientation in general?
Lindsey is straight, but he'll engage in a M-F-M threesome if the opportunity presents itself. Overall though, he really doesn't care who people are attracted to.
#47. If they were to fall in love, who (or what) is their ideal?
Lindsey's a sucker for a damsel in distress. He's never let his guard down long enough for a woman to get close long-term, but his type is definitely blond and fragile. He wants to be the hero, but he knows he doesn't have it in him so he never takes the risk.

27/1/12 18:13 (UTC)#1. What does their bedroom look like?
Sterling's bedroom looks like it sprang directly from the pages of Architectural Digest circa 1995. Olivia's mother decorated it shortly after they were married, and she always insisted on behaving as if they had money. Everything's comfortable, but shabby with age and battered from multiple moves.
If you ask Sterling, he'll tell you that his bedroom looks like most five star hotels, since that where he spends the majority of his nights since the divorce.
#15 Biggest and smallest short term goal?
Sterling's biggest short term goal is to stay out of Eliot Spencer's reach. He knew what he was risking by drugging Eliot in Dubai, but now he feels like he can't in good conscience arrest Eliot if Spencer comes after him.
He'll get over it eventually.
His smallest short term goal is re-organizing his life so he can do right by his daughter. He's starting over, and he wants to make sure he doesn't waste the chance.
#19. What do they think about before falling asleep at night?
Everything he didn't manage to accomplish during the day, and what he's going to do differently tomorrow.
#33. Concept of home and family?
Sterling is very much a traditionalist in this area. Success in his world is being able to provide for your family on one income. Now that Olivia's back in his life, he's already looking for a house and land for them - no apartments for his daughter.
He's also very concerned that she go to a high school worthy of her.
#45. Superstitions or views on the occult?
Sterling's public views on the occult or superstitious people are that they are easily exploitable. Personally he only has one superstition/ritual: Nate and Sterling have a shared Old-Fashioned/Lowball drinking glass, which they pass between each other (since their I.Y.S. days) to symbolize who has the upper hand. (DVD Commentary for The Maltese Falcon Job)
#48. How do they express love?
Sterling isn't a hearts and flowers kind of guy. He expresses love by showing up - by being somebody you can rely on.

27/1/12 17:53 (UTC)Parker's biggest short term goal is to be able to go on a normal date with Hardison. One where she puts on a dress, Sophie helps her with her makeup, and there are flowers.
She still doesn't understand why, but flowers are important.
Her smallest short term goal is to spend the entire night with Hardison. She's still not comfortable sharing her bed or her personal space with somebody for a whole night.
#16. Biggest and smallest long term goal?
Her biggest long term goal is to be able to beat Eliot in a fight without having to use any sort of weapon. She's pretty sure she can get there - she just hasn't figured out how yet.
Her smallest long term goal is to get rid of her extra safe houses and have just one place that she can call *hers*. Oh, and to let the team know where it is. *g*

28/1/12 04:33 (UTC)...and if Face is too obscure, how's about Nate, same numbers?
(no subject)
28/1/12 11:24 (UTC)Let's see...Faceman
#18. Favorite beverage?
Everybody thinks it's an act, but Face really does like the Louis XIII label of cognac best.
#39. What recharges them when they’re feeling drained?
Going to a high end club and finding a beautiful mark to buy him dinner and invite him home to spend the night.
#42. Hobbies?
Tennis, squash, golf, the occasional game of Texas hold 'em. Oh, and seducing beautiful women, of course. *g*
#46. Do they express their thoughts through words or deeds?
Face doesn't express his thoughts. That's a weakness he's not going to subject himself to without a damn good reason.
Now Nate:
#18. Favorite beverage?
Nate'll usually drink whatever's available, but he's had Drambuie a couple of times in his life and he definitely approves.
#39. What recharges them when they’re feeling drained?
Work. Nate's only ever really drained when he has to spend too much time without something to do. He tries puzzles, reading, and yes - in addition to his sex life with Sophie he has a nice healthy little porn addiction going - but nothing recharges his batteries like going up against some corporate sonofabitch and taking him down.
#42. Hobbies?
Puzzles, reading, sex, porn, work.
#46. Do they express their thoughts through words or deeds?
Nate's a talker. No - seriously - he never shuts up. *g*

30/1/12 18:20 (UTC)Lindsey would either start making notes for the meeting he has in half an hour, or working on a fresh "To Do" list. He's not a real big believer in "nothing to do". There's always something you can be doing, because you better believe the people trying to take you down aren't indulging in this "nothing to do" myth. *g*
#27. What is their biggest regret?
You mean aside from not torturing Angel to death when he had the chance? I'd say Lindsey's biggest regret is that he couldn't save Darla. I think on some level he's still convincing himself that - given time - he would have gotten her to give up her obsession with Angel and build a life with him. (And how ironic is it that the clip of Darla singing at Caritas is playing as I type this?)
#28. Who do they see as their best friend? Their worst enemy?
His best friend is his twin brother Eliot - literally the only person in the world Lindsey trusts not to fuck him over and to always have his back.
Ties That Bind 'verse Lindsey's worst enemy is Nate - hands down. It's easier to blame Nate for him losing his place in Eliot's life than to accept that he may have brought it on himself.
#49. If this person were to get into a fist fight, what is their fighting style like?
Knife in his boot and a .38 somewhere on his person. Going back to their childhood Lindsey's never bought into this "honorable warrior" crap Eliot seems so fond of. If you get into a fight, the point is to win.
The smart way to win is the fastest, most expedient way possible.
