...the acting vice president of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA) attempted to aspirate both his shoes.

As always happens with such events, there was wank. From that wank, however, "International Pixel-Stained Technopeasant Day" was born. In honor of this day, we post professional quality writing in our LJ's for anyone and everyone to enjoy at no charge.

Now I am not a "professional" writer as such. Not yet. But I wanted to do my part, so under the cut is the short story that I just got rejected from the current "Sword and Sorceress".

Those familiar with the Big Penguin will recognize the characters, even though the setting has been frakked with for saleability. The idea for the story itself was in response to a challenge by laughingimp that I try to write something where I stay completely out of the characters' thoughts.

The S&S folk may not have liked it, but I think it turned out cool. :)
