"War" by Poets of the Fall is my #1 Faith/Dean song. It's got a haunting, hopeless tone to it that just captures their fight against the forces of evil. They've lost so much and know on some level that they're never going to win, but they've promised each other that they won't stop.

I realized today that I still have the videotapes where I recorded every single X-Files episode...and I don't know why. Having seven seasons of Buffy where I only really liked five, or five seasons of Angel where I only liked about two and a half makes sense. The show had its ups and downs, but when we finally parted company I never had the sense that they disrespected me as a fan.

X-Files, not so much. Season five onward was just a long legacy of pain and nonsense and disrespect. There's a fine line between completist and masochist, and my relationship with the X-Files by the end fell heavily on the masochistic side of the scale.

I'm not holding onto them anymore - they're going in the trash in the morning.

I still have all my Xena VHS tapes. (I don't have the DVDs...yet) and re-watch them every so often.

But I know what you mean. I completely stopped watching Charmed in the fifth season. And I was so done with the series that I taped over everything I had saved.

I have different favorite fics for different fandoms, but if I had to pic my overall favoritest fic writer ever, it would be nyxocity. The woman is brilliant - I have never read a story of hers, regardless of the fandom, that didn't immediately suck me in.

Huh - my head canon for both 'verses is pretty much common knowledge. Okay - post "After the Silence Has Returned", Dean and Eliot did get their weekend together, but Faith was blatantly *not* invited. She and Dean had an epic fight about it that ultimately Sam had to step in and play peacemaker for.

He ended up brokering a deal that gave Faith a weekend of her own with Eliot and promise for a really nice get away for Faith Dean and Eliot...

...and then Bobby threatened to ban them all from the house if they didn't stop screaming about their sex lives where he had to hear about it.

Kara and Anders, BSG. I can suspend a lot of disbelief and don't typically require canon validation to sail my 'ship, but when a show works *that* hard to torpedo a relationship, I find myself wondering why I continue to believe.
