For
theron09, who picked Nate/Eliot off my 'shipper's poll.
It takes a while before Eliot realizes the nightmares aren’t as bad when he sleeps over. Then he feels guilty – he’s always accepted his nightmares as the price of what he’s done.
“If it’s a problem, you could always finish the night in the spare room.” It’s Nate’s only observation when he brings it up, and as good as he’s gotten reading the man’s moods, Eliot honestly can’t tell if he’s teasing or not. So he growls and grumbles, still joining Nate in his bed, and marveling at how quickly the tension leaves his body when Nate spoons around him, slipping an arm around Eliot’s chest. Held, not restrained…hands stroking idly along his skin, brushing through his hair… Their bodies fit together so perfectly Eliot can’t imagine it ever being this way with anyone else.
“One of these days you’re going to realize you’re safe here.” Nate’s kiss is warm on his shoulder. “Your demons have had you long enough.” Fingers card gently through his hair, soothing him down into sleep.
“You’re mine now,” he hears Nate murmur, just before he drops off, “and I don’t share.”
