Asking a favor...

I know I've asked you guys for help in the past, and I'm almost ashamed of the reasons I've asked in light of what puts me here today.

This is a donation button that links to the account of a friend of mind in Scotland. She's a...well, words can't describe how big her heart is and how much she's come to mean to me over the past year. Like a lot of us she's been suffering from a combination of the global economic condition and her own unavoidable health issues.

Like a lot of us, she's been too proud to ask for help, and now she's facing being locked out of her own apartment in the next twenty-four hours if she can't raise the balance of her missing rent money. This particular problem occurred when the government switched out her benefits and took their own sweet time telling her they'd done so, necessitating her dipping into her rent money to buy food and electricity.

Anything you can give will help, even if it's five dollars. I know we're all in our own different economic messes right now, but please believe me - I wouldn't ask if it wasn't important.

Ok, that? Sucks. Jesus, have all governments forgotten that their primary responsbility is to take care of their most vulnerable citizens?

I don't have much to give, but she's got what I can spare. I only wish I could do more.

And in mind I'm bitchslapping two governments, one political party and a few 1 percenters.

That's my hope S - that even though none of us have a lot, we can pool what we have and together keep somebody from getting cast out into the cold.

And sadly, I think that governments have forgotten everything except covering their own asses.
