I was a *maniac* during Phelps' 100m butterfly. Seriously. Even when I knew intellectually he'd won...my brain kept trying to make sense of that freakin' finish! I could break it down in my head, but it wasn't reconciling with what my eyes were seeing...until they showed that one angle from underneath and below.

Wow.

And his mother's reaction? *That* is one of the best moments of this or any other Olympics as far as I'm concerned.

Dara Torres? You go with your awesome self. (For those who may not have caught it, Torres asked the refs to hold the race so one of the other women could deal with a torn swimsuit. Sportsmanship at its finest.)

I caught those too. Dara was awesome in her forty-something awesomeness. But that was the class act of a grown-up, regardless of age.
