Swiped from [livejournal.com profile] mizzy2k (natch):

Pick any passage of 500 words or less from any fanfic I’ve written, and comment to this post with that selection. I will then give you the equivalent of a DVD commentary on that snippet: what I was thinking when I wrote it, why I wrote it in the first place, what’s going on in the character’s heads, why I chose certain words, what this moment means in the context of the rest of the fic, lots of awful puns, and anything else that you’d expect to find on a DVD commentary track.

99% of my fic is here. A few other random fics are here.

Oh this should be fun...*g*

One of the problems with pulling from a co-authored fic for this meme is that you're pretty much rolling the dice on whether or not I wrote it.

Needless to say I didn't in this case. Pretty much anything that touches on the Eliot/Lindsey relationship in The Ties That Bind Job was [livejournal.com profile] hickumu's creation. This particular passage definitely shows the effects of having been written between Season 2 and 3; you can see the trust factor of them having accepted that they're a team on the way to something more, but there just isn't the kind of knowledge and comfort level with each other that you'd see a year from this point.

I also don't remember how Parker's issues with Faith made their way into the story, but her focus here on the idea that Nate's daughter should be "nice" is an interesting play on the fact that a lot of fans at that point seemed to be under the delusion that without the alcohol Nate *would* be a nice guy.

It also ended up foreshadowing all the great father/daughter moments between Nate and Parker that we saw in Season 3.

Yeah, I remembered too late that this one was co-authored. Oops? And trust me to pick a part you didn't write *sigh* Ah well... you gave me good commentary regardless of that, so thank you :)
