18. Favorite antagonist and why!

Probably Shawn Beecher from the Elemental Mages quartet. He's the only clear-cut antagonist I think I've ever written. Maybe Secretary Michaels from Four Angels, but I haven't gotten far enough into that story yet.

I don't really ever set out to write individual antagonists. For me, the antagonist is typically some sort of institution - usually governmental or religious in nature.
