Meme Time!
26/6/10 13:10I'm going to try to do both "30 Day" memes floating around...both to try and get me back in the habit of saying *something*, and because...well...I think they're cool.
( 30 Days of Writing! )
1. Tell us about your favorite writing project/universe that you've worked with and why.
I am a sucker for Epic! Space! Opera! with casts of thousands, therefore my answer would have to be the "Terran Chronicles" universe. Roughly five hundred years in the future, Earth has been united under one government, and they have gone to war with a military dictatorship in another quadrant of the galaxy. The war has gone on long enough, and has become enough of a political football, that no one is really sure anymore why it started in the first place.
The Terrans develop an elite group of combat-trained spy-types who go on missions against the enemy, and rack up a high enough success rate that they eventually become a valuable propaganda tool for the Terrans.
I have a couple of finished manuscripts in this 'verse, but none of them are early enough with the back story that I've been able to have any success convincing people why these are awesome characters that I love with every fiber of my being.
Before I die, Joseph Bricker in particular, will get the love he so rightfully deserves.
